Of Birth: 1956 For How Long Have You been Making Music : |
||||
|
When
I was 14 years old I bought my first acoustic guitar. After several school
projects I started playing bass at the age of 19. In the following years
I played in many bands, most of them were rock bands. Activities
before Flamborough Head : |
||||
|
In
1987 I played in Stiffener, a local rock band with a female singer. In
that band I played with André
Cents (former
FH guitarist) and Koen for three years. It was my first real band. We even
played in Germany. After
that there was a band called Jessicaded Music, with Koen (again) and two
female singers. In
1990 I started playing in a cover band called Eye Lash. We played in local
café’s in the north of Holland. In
1992 I was asked to join Flamborough Head. The first three years I
continued playing at Eye
Lash, but it took too much time, so I decided to quit one of them. Flamborough
Head is the band who gives me the opportunity to be my self as a musician
and I must confess… They
are good company as well.
Musical Influences : |
||||
|
Most
of my influences are from the seventies. That was the time music was part
of my life, as it was for most
kids at that age. I
listened to bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, the Who, T-Rex and
more. For
me it is important that music has got a good groove and that there are
some great licks in
it. Favourite
Instrument : |

My
favorite bass is absolutely my ’78 USA Fender Precision Bass. Sometimes
I also play a customized bass, built by Danny de Haan. He built several
guitars for the American band The Sleez Beez as well. I
call my self a lucky one to own an AMPEG SVT-2 amp with a 4x10 and 1x15
cabinet. The sound is great. |
